Stories from Java is a self-project illustrations depicted the characters taken from various stories from old Javanese literatures and wayang stories.
 
The first is Cakil, a humoric figure in Javanese wayang story (lakon) who's a symbol of greed and lust. To the second and third there are Jatayu the martyr bird and Rahwana the king of Alengka from epic story Ramayana (Voyage of the Rama). Next on the fourth is Ken Dedes, the most legendary queen of Java. Her story told in the book of Pararaton as the mother of all Javanese kings and dynasties from 13th century. In the following, there is illustration of Prthivi / Pertiwi, a personification of mother-earth or motherland in Javanese tradition. The sixth illustration is Sutasoma, a prince from Hastinapura whoose the story told in old book of Sutasoma. And the last one is Antaboga, a serpent living deep under the earth and the tutor of Wisanggeni (son of Arjuna) in Javanese wayang story.
